The German Book Prize 2019 at Frankfurter Buchmesse

Visitors can experience the German Book Prize up close and personal at Frankfurter Buchmesse 2019: The German Book Prize is presenting a multifaceted programme at the fair, including an exhibition of all 300 nominated titles from 15 years of the German Book Prize, readings with this year’s winner and a virtual thematic tour.

All novels nominated for the prize since 2005 are on display at the stand of the German Book Prize (Hall 3.1, Stand J 83). This year’s 20 longlisted novels are available for browsing. Audio samples and video portraits present the nominated books and their authors.

Come see this year’s winner live at a reading or discussion. Here are the most important dates:

Tuesday, 15 October | starting at 8 pm
The winner of the German Book Prize at the opening of OPEN BOOKS 2019 with “Das Blaue Sofa” (“The Blue Sofa”)

Wednesday, 16 October | 11 – 11:30 am
The prize-winner on the “Blue Sofa”
(Via Mobile between Hall 5 and 6)

Wednesday, 16 October | 2 – 2:30 pm
The prize-winner on the ARD stage
(Forum, Level 0)

Thursday, 17 October | 11 am – 12 pm
The prize-winner interviewed at the SPIEGEL stand
(Hall 3.0, D 56)

Saturday, 19 October | 2 – 3 pm
The prize-winner and his or her publisher in conversation with the editorial staff of the trade magazine Börsenblatt, followed by a reading and book signing
(Frankfurt Pavilion, Agora)
